We collect what we need to book and run assembly jobs, and we don’t sell your personal information for money. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and who sees it.
1. What we collect
| From | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Buyers | Name, email, phone, address, zip code | To book the job and let your pro find you |
| Buyers | Item links, photos, counts, notes | So pros can price and prepare |
| Buyers | Card details (held by Stripe, not us) | For the $30 deposit |
| Pros | Name, email, phone, zip, service area, profile photo | To show your profile and send you jobs |
| Pros | Government ID and selfie (through our ID vendor) | To confirm who you are |
| Pros | Background check report (through our screening vendor) | To approve you, with your separate consent |
| Pros | License and insurance documents | To verify them |
| Pros | Card and bank details (held by Stripe, not us) | For booking fees and payouts |
| Everyone | Job photos, in-app messages, reviews | To run the job and resolve disputes |
| Everyone | Logs of calls and texts through our masked numbers (who, when, how long; not what was said) | To resolve disputes |
| Everyone | Site data: device, browser, pages visited, cookies, analytics and ad identifiers | To keep the site working, see how it’s used, and show Assemblrs ads |
Where it comes from. Most of it comes from you. We also get identity and background check results from our screening vendor, limited payment details from Stripe (never your full card or bank number), and site data from cookies and the analytics and ad tools in section 4.
We use your zip code and address for jobs. We don’t track your phone’s location.
2. How we use it
- To book, run and support jobs, and to send job and account messages.
- To verify pros and keep buyers and pros safe.
- To prevent fraud, look into complaints, settle disputes and enforce our terms.
- To improve the site and understand how it’s used.
- To tell you about Assemblrs, if you haven’t opted out.
- To follow the law, and for taxes and accounting.
AI tools. We may use AI tools from our service providers to help run the site, for example to read a product link you paste or to help answer support messages. They may use your information only to provide that service to us.
Totals and reviews of activity. Anything we make public, like average prices or job counts, is combined or anonymous so it can’t identify anyone. When there are complaints or we suspect misuse, we may review a specific account’s activity, including a pro’s pricing, messages and job history.
3. Who sees your information
- Pros in your area, when you post a job: the item, counts, photos, notes, zip code and your available times. Not your name, address or phone number.
- Your pro, once you book: your name, address and job details. Phone numbers are masked.
- Everyone: pro profiles, photos and reviews are public. Buyer reviews show a first name only.
- Service providers who work for us under contract: Stripe (payments), our ID and background check vendor, our texting and phone provider, our web host, email provider and AI tools. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
- Analytics and ad partners, as described in section 4.
- Legal reasons: if required by law, or to protect someone’s safety or our rights.
- If the business is sold, your information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.
We don’t sell your personal information for money. We never share ID or background check results, job addresses, job photos, or your phone number and text consent with analytics or ad partners.
4. Cookies, analytics and ads
We use cookies to keep you logged in and make the site work. We may also use analytics and advertising tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook (Meta) and LinkedIn. These tools use cookies and similar technology to see how people use our site and to show Assemblrs ads on other sites. They may collect your device and browser details, the pages you visit, and how you found us.
To limit this, you can block or delete cookies in your browser, use Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on, or change your ad settings on Google, Facebook and LinkedIn. Some parts of the site may not work without cookies. We don’t currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
5. Texts and calls
If you opt in to texts, we use your number only for job messages. Reply STOP to opt out. We don’t record or listen to calls made through our masked numbers.
6. How long we keep it
We keep personal information for as long as we reasonably need it to run Assemblrs, settle disputes, prevent fraud, enforce our terms, and meet legal, tax and accounting requirements. Then we delete it or make it anonymous. When you close your account, we remove your profile from view, but we may keep some information for those reasons.
7. Your choices
- Ask to see, get a copy of, correct or delete your information by emailing support@assemblrs.com. We’ll respond within 45 days and may need to confirm who you are. If we say no, you can ask us to reconsider by replying to that email.
- Opt out of texts anytime (reply STOP) and marketing emails (unsubscribe link). You’ll still get emails about your jobs and account.
- If you close your account, reviews you posted may stay up without your name. Information you already shared with a pro or buyer stays with them.
8. Security
We use secure connections (HTTPS) and limit who can see personal information. Card and bank details are handled by Stripe and never stored on our servers. Please use a strong password and don’t share it. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify you as the law requires if your information is involved in a breach.
9. Children
Assemblrs is for adults 18 and older. If we learn someone under 18 has signed up, we’ll close the account and delete their information.
10. Links to other sites
Product links and other sites linked from Assemblrs have their own privacy policies. We aren’t responsible for how they handle your information.
11. Changes
We’ll post any changes here with a new date and email account holders about important ones.
